Obsessed with needing to be successful
Apart from organisations often not defining what success looks like well and frankly missing the mark, it can also create a culture of fear of failure, enabling people to be risk-averse, and instead of being mission-driven they become ego-driven
Act first think later
Being obsessed with doing whilst it is often admirable unchecked can often lead to team burn out, and repetitive mistakes and growth stagnation because of the lack of reflection.
Hyper-Collaboration
Relationships do matter; however, if your organisation is driven by the need to fit in, be liked, and be accepted, this shallowness will lead to your credibility being lost fast. Rather than conforming, try to remember who you are, your end game, and play to your strengths. An organisation should be driven by a clear mission, sound values and inte
grity. This will result in their impact being significant and long-lasting.
Call in the Experts
We all love an expert, but is that is the only people you listen to? If so, then you will be led by narrow views, distorted
perspectives, and likely fail to secure buy-in from all stakeholders. Service users, community, staff, and your gut are probably the only experts you should ever need.
